Understanding what you may be experiencing

Low mood can show up as sadness, numbness, exhaustion, irritability, isolation or a loss of interest in things that once mattered. It can make ordinary tasks feel difficult and can be hard to explain to people around you.

You do not have to wait until you can describe everything perfectly. Therapy offers a regular point of connection where your experience can be heard and understood without pressure to “cheer up” or recover on someone else’s timetable.

02

You might consider support if you notice

These experiences are examples, not a diagnosis. You can contact John even if your situation does not fit a neat label.

  • Persistent sadness or emotional flatness
  • Loss of interest, energy or motivation
  • Withdrawing from people or activities
  • Harsh self-criticism or hopeless thinking
  • Difficulty managing normal routines
  • Low mood after loss, trauma or major change
03

How therapy can approach this

John works collaboratively and at your pace. Sessions may explore what has contributed to the low mood, how it affects your relationships and daily life, and what small, realistic steps may support reconnection. Therapy does not promise a quick fix; it provides steady support and a place where difficult feelings do not have to be hidden.
