What individual therapy offers
Individual therapy is private time between you and your therapist. It can help when you want somewhere separate from family, friends or work to speak freely and consider what is happening in your life.
You set the focus with John. Sessions may centre on a recent event, a long-standing pattern, a specific emotional difficulty or a wish to understand yourself more clearly.
Reasons people begin one-to-one therapy
You do not need a diagnosis or a dramatic crisis. A concern is valid because it is affecting you.
- Anxiety, low mood or emotional overwhelm
- Bereavement, trauma or a difficult transition
- Stress and coping patterns
- Adjustment to injury, disability or changed identity
- Confidence and pressure in sport
- A need for confidential reflection and support
Your pace and your voice
John works from a humanistic, person-centred perspective. He does not arrive with a fixed version of what your life should look like. The relationship is collaborative, with empathy, authenticity and respect at its centre.
You can ask questions, say when something does not fit and take time to build trust. You will not be expected to disclose everything at once.
Session choices
Individual sessions cost €60. Meet John in the wheelchair-accessible Kilmainhamwood therapy room or choose online counselling from elsewhere in Meath.
