Understanding what you may be experiencing
Grief can involve much more than sadness. You may feel anger, guilt, relief, confusion, numbness or exhaustion, sometimes in the same day. There is no universal timetable and no single “right” way to respond to loss.
Bereavement counselling offers somewhere you do not have to protect other people from how you feel. It can also support losses connected with health, mobility, relationships, identity, work or a future you expected to have.
You might consider support if you notice
These experiences are examples, not a diagnosis. You can contact John even if your situation does not fit a neat label.
- Death of someone important to you
- Anticipatory grief during serious illness
- Relationship endings or separation
- Loss of health, mobility or independence
- Identity loss after a major change
- Grief that feels stuck, isolating or difficult to express
How therapy can approach this
John creates room for your grief rather than trying to talk you out of it. Therapy can help you give language to the loss, understand the many emotions around it and find ways to carry the relationship or meaning forward while continuing to live. The focus is guided by what you need, not by a fixed model of stages.
Appointments in Meath and online
Sessions are available in Kilmainhamwood or online throughout Meath for €60. Online appointments may be useful if travel, caring responsibilities or the early intensity of grief makes leaving home difficult.
