A flexible way to access therapy

Online counselling can make regular therapy possible when distance, mobility, transport, work or caring responsibilities create a barrier. You meet John by video from a private place of your choosing, without travelling to the Kilmainhamwood practice.

The conversation remains live and one to one. The therapeutic relationship, confidentiality and attention to your needs are just as important online as they are in the room.

02

What you need for an online appointment

A little preparation helps an online session feel private and settled.

  • A phone, tablet or computer with a stable internet connection
  • A private space where you can speak without being overheard
  • Headphones if they improve privacy or sound
  • Enough uninterrupted time before and after the call
  • A plan for reconnecting if the internet drops
03

When online therapy may suit you

People across Navan, Kells, Trim, Ashbourne, East Meath and rural parts of the county can work with John without making a regular journey north to Kilmainhamwood. It may also suit clients managing a physical impairment, fatigue, anxiety about travel or changing weekly commitments.

Online therapy is not the best setting for every person or every situation. You and John can discuss privacy, safety and whether the format meets your needs before continuing.

04

Areas of support online

Online sessions can cover the same core areas as face-to-face work, including anxiety, depression and low mood, grief, trauma, disability adjustment, coping skills and sports performance.
