A place to talk without judgement
Counselling and psychotherapy give you protected time to explore thoughts, feelings and experiences that may be difficult to carry alone. Some people come with a particular concern, while others know only that life feels heavy, confusing or out of balance.
John offers a warm and non-judgemental relationship where you can speak honestly. The purpose is not to force a quick answer. It is to understand your experience more clearly, recognise patterns and support changes that fit your own values and circumstances.
What you can bring to therapy
There is no correct starting point. You might want support after a loss or traumatic event, with anxiety or low mood, with adapting to disability, or with confidence and pressure in sport. You might also want to build healthier coping skills during a demanding period.
- Anxiety, worry, panic or persistent tension
- Depression, low mood, numbness or reduced motivation
- Grief, bereavement, trauma and difficult transitions
- Physical impairment, identity change or accident recovery
- Stress, overwhelm and coping skills
- Sports confidence, focus, pressure and injury adjustment
How John works
John’s approach is humanistic and person-centred. Empathy, authenticity and respect are central to the work. Rather than treating you as a list of symptoms, therapy considers the whole person and the meaning your experiences have for you.
The first session is an opportunity to discuss what has brought you to therapy, what you hope may change and whether working together feels right. You remain free to ask questions about the process at any stage.
Flexible access across Meath
In-person sessions are held in John’s private, wheelchair-accessible room in Kilmainhamwood. Online counselling is available across Meath, including for people whose location, mobility or schedule makes regular travel difficult. Each session costs €60.
